(Click on image to see panaroma)
Situated in the cradle of the Trikuta mountains (foothills of the Himalayan mountain range in J&K), the holy cave shrine of Vaishnodevi gets lakhs of visitors every year. After the tiring 13 km walk & climb from the town of Katra, the exhilaration you get on seeing the shrine in the distance puts away all of your physical pain and mental fatigue. And it calls for clicking of a bunch of photos. Wath out for a closer view of the shrine on the site. If you want to know about the legend, read here.

Wow, it looks cool!
I am wondering what software you use to stitch your images. The one I have is absolutely pathetic and I have yet to create panorama which I can put on my website! Do let me know the name of software you use!

good picture...would have prefered that the balcony not come in the side...though overall its amazing and captures the shrine very well..
Absolutely beautiful. I have been to the shrine and actually spent a lota energy explaining people how beautiful the shrine and the YATRA is.. but as they say.. "A picture is worth a thousand words". Will recommend this link to them next time.
:-)
Very shiny. Did you use a tripod? (I like the balcony on the right, adds perspective) Did you stitch in Photoshop, or a dedicated app?
Did you use a tripod?
No. Although I have one, I did not carry it for the journey to the shrine. I would appear too much out of place at the shrine with a tripod in one hand and prasad offerings in another. Oh, and it isn't a balcony. It is the pebbled walkway to the shrine.
bookings for bhakats woth Shri Board for available facilities shoulld widely be publicised
Good job. Although I havent been to VaishnoMandir I hv heard fm close friends who have been there. In Feb, the devotees walked up the steps while it was snowing, bare foot!
The official website which has the actual history of Vaishnodevi

The other temple/ashram of Vaishnavi devi is in Madras, south India where they found a Murthi of Her in the earth. History says that She was born in South India and travelled to North, on LordRama's order.
Jai Mata Di.
