Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal is the most photographed monument in India. It is the face of India as far as architectural history is concerned. Still people can't seem to get enough of it. All these years, I was pretty excited about visiting the Taj. Entering the complex for the first time, I was overwhelmed by the size of the monument. But soon I had that hollow feeling, a feeling which is hard to describe. It comes from the excessive exposure to the beauty of the monument in almost every medium. It appeared something so common, although I was actually seeing it in reality for the first time. Nevertheless, the sheer beauty and aura of the Taj still stays above any other Mughal piece of history.
