Agra & Fatehpur Sikri

Banner_agra_large

Agra, the name derived from Agrabana (meaning the paradise), a forest mentioned in the epic Mahabharata, was the capital of Akbar's empire in the sixteenth century and was probably beautiful then. No more. Today its just another small town in rural India - polluted by corruption, greed and callousness of its residents towards its glorious past. Nevertheless, I visited some of the old monuments around the city and captured them here. Lessons learnt, as you might observe, the photos have very high contrast and highlights were blown out in many photos. They were taken at mid noon in the scorching UP summer.
