As I read somewhere, the name is a misnomer. Jodhabai was the wife of Jehangir and not Akbar. Akbar's Rajput wife was referred to as Mariam-uz-Zamani by her son Jehangir. The more accepted name is Raniwas. This palace has many suites of different sizes, has many jalidar windows suggesting strong Rajasthani influence in the architecture of the Palace.

from my understanding Jodhabhai indeed was Jahangir's mother and Akbar's wife. She was given the name Mariam-uz Zamani later on in life, but her given name was Jodhabhai. Jahangir's wife, however, was named Jagat Gosain; she gave birth to Shah Jahan. The names are quite confusing: but I have this info on authority from a scholar in Mughal history.
