The Finial

Replica of Finial The bulbous white dome ends in inverted lotus petals and a brass Kalasa (finial) at the top. It is believed the finial was originally made of gold but that was stolen when the Taj was plundered in the years after the end of the Mughal empire. To give an idea of the height of the finial (31ft), a black stone repica has been engraved near the entrance of the Naqqar Khana on the left of the Taj.
